The Beatles - Rubber Soul

Rubber Soul is the sixth studio album by the English band The Beatles, released in December 1965. Produced by George Martin, Rubber Soul had been recorded in just over four weeks to make the Christmas market. Unlike the five albums that preceded it, Rubber Soul was the first Beatle album recorded during a specific period without being interrupted by tour dates.

All of their albums after Rubber Soul (except Magical Mystery Tour) followed this process. The album was described as a major artistic achievement, attaining widespread critical and commercial success, with reviewers taking note of The Beatles' developing musical vision.

The original UK release shows the "soul" influence of the album's title. Track list changes to the US release, including two acoustic songs held over from the previous album, Help!, gave the US version a folk rock feel that critics attributed to The Byrds and Bob Dylan.

Rubber Soul is often cited as one of the greatest albums in pop music history. In 1998, Q magazine readers voted it the 40th greatest album of all time, while in 2000 the same publication placed it at number 21 in its list of the 100 Greatest British Albums Ever. In 2001, VH1 placed it at number 6. In 2003, the album was ranked number 5 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. In 2006, the album was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 best albums of all time!...

James Brown - Live At The Apollo

In 1962 (one year before the release of the album), James Brown was known, but not owwwww (well known)! Frustrated at his inability to break through, the ever savvy J.B. asked his label to record one of his acclaimed live shows and release it as an album. When the label refused, Brown bankrolled the recording himself.

"Are you ready for star time?" the emcee asks the Apollo crowd on the night of October 24, and for the next 40 minutes Brown puts on a flawless show of dynamism that lost nothing in the transfer to vinyl. Only a few thousand copies of the original were pressed, but demand became so great (it ultimately sold well over a million) that DJs played the album in its entirety, and the legend of the hardest working man in showbiz was born...

There are too many hits in this album. "I'll Go Crazy", "Try Me", "Think", "Please Please Please", "I Don't Mind", "Night Train" and more. If you have seen the Live of James Brown, that's OK, i don't need to say more. But in case you haven't, just buy the album!

Mr Scruff - Jazz Potato

Mr. Scruff began selling tea from a small room at the Manchester club, the Music Box, where he was resident DJ in around 2000, with the proceeds going to charity. When he started touring, Scruff took the enterprise with him and gained a reputation for being the DJ with the teashop. When appearing at festivals, such as Big Chill and WOMAD, tea stalls or tents were erected, and were open for the duration of the festivals. Scruff subsequently started an online tea company "Make Us A Brew", and now produces his own range of fair trade teabags...
