I have the opinion that every one in the blues and rock music space
knows the story that Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil in order
to learn how to play guitar! But there is also another story which says
that he wasn't really the greatest blues musician of his era, he was
just lucky enough to get recorded.
The response to both stories
is simple — just listen to the album (released in 1961) with 29 songs,
which were first recorded in the period between the years 1936 and 1937.
Enjoy his magnificent guitar playing and his unique and raw voice and
think that he was dead at age 27! If you only know how many artists have
studied (and copied) his songs so far, then buy this record today! It's
a must have album, really!
The very first serious blues deposit, ever!
